1st Chapter 38th Sloka

यद्यप्येते न पश्यन्ति लोभोपहतचेतसः ।
कुलक्षयकृतं दोषं मित्राद्रोहे च पातकम् ॥३८॥

yadyapyete na paśyanti lobhopahatacetasaḥ |
kulakṣayakṛtaṃ doṣaṃ mitrādrohe ca pātakam ||38||

यदि 0 अपि 0 एते 1/3 0 पश्यन्ति III/3 लोभोपहतचेतसः 1/3
कुलक्षयकृतम् 2/1 दोषम् 2/1 मित्राद्रोहे 7/1 0 पातकम् 2/1 ॥३८॥

·         यदि [yadi] = if = अव्ययम्
·         अपि [api] = even = अव्ययम्
·         एते [ete] = these people = एतद् (pron. m.) + 1/3
·         [na] = not= अव्ययम्
·         पश्यन्ति [paśyanti] = see = दृश् (1P) to see + लट्/कर्तरि/III/3
·         लोभोपहतचेतसः [lobhopahatacetasaḥ] = whose minds are destroyed by greed = लोभोपहतचेतस् (m.) + 1/3
o   लोभेन (by the greed) उपहतानि (destroyed) चेतांसि (minds) येषां (for whom) ते लोभोपहतचेतसः । बहुव्रीहिसमासः
·         तथा [tathā] = and also = अव्ययम्
·         कुलक्षयकृतम् [kulakṣayakṛtam] = made by the destruction of the society = कुलक्षयकृत (n.) + adj. to दोषम् 2/1
·         दोषम् [doṣam] = defect = दोष (n.) + कर्मणि to पश्यन्ति 2/1
·         मित्राद्रोहे [mitrādrohe] = in the betrayal of one's friends = मित्राद्रोह (m.) + 7/1
·         [ca] = and = अव्ययम्
·         पातकम् [pātakam] = adverse result caused by wrong action = पातक (n.) + adj. to दोषम् 2/1
                                 

Conditional subordinate sentence:
यदि 0 अपि 0 एते 1/3 0 पश्यन्ति III/3 लोभोपहतचेतसः 1/3
कुलक्षयकृतम् 2/1 दोषम् 2/1 मित्राद्रोहे 7/1 0 पातकम् 2/1 ॥३८॥
Even if (यदि 0 अपि 0) these (एते 1/3)whose minds are destroyed by greed (लोभोपहतचेतसः 1/3) do not see ( 0 पश्यन्ति III/3) the defect (दोषम् 2/1) in the betrayal of one's friends (मित्राद्रोहे 7/1) caused by the destruction of the society (कुलक्षयकृतम् 2/1) and ( 0) the adverse result caused by wrong action (पातकम् 2/1), … condinued to the next verse …
