6th Chapter 17th Sloka



युक्ताहारविहारस्य युक्तचेष्टस्य कर्मसु ।
युक्तस्वप्नावबोधस्य योगो भवति दुःखहा ॥६.१७॥

yuktāhāravihārasya yuktaceṣṭasya karmasu |
yuktasvapnāvabodhasya yogo bhavati duḥkhahā ||6.17||


युक्ताहारविहारस्य 6/1 युक्तचेष्टस्य 6/1 कर्मसु 7/3
युक्तस्वप्नावबोधस्य 6/1 योगः 1/1 भवति III/1 दुःखहा 1/1 ॥६.१७॥


·         युक्ताहारविहारस्य [yuktāhāravihārasya] = for one who is moderate in eating and other activities = युक्ताहारविहार (m.) + सम्बन्धे to योगः 6/1
o   आहारः च विहारः च आहारविहारौ (ID) ।
o   युक्तौ आहारविहारौ यस्य सः युक्ताहारविहारः (116B), तस्य ।
·         युक्तचेष्टस्य [yuktaceṣṭasya] = for one who is moderate in effort = युक्तचेष्ट (m.) + सम्बन्धे to योगः 6/1
·         कर्मसु [karmasu] = with referene to duty = कर्मन् (n.) + विषये to युक्तचेष्टस्य 7/1
·         युक्तस्वप्नावबोधस्य [yuktasvapnāvabodhasya] = for one who is moderate in one's sleeping and waking hours = युक्तस्वप्नावबोध (m.) + सम्बन्धे to योगः 6/1
·         योगः [yogaḥ] = meditation = योग (m.) + कर्तरि to भवति 1/1
·         भवति [bhavati] = becomes = भू सत्तायाम् (1P) to be + लट्/कर्तरि/III/1
·         दुःखहा [duḥkhahā] = the destroyer of sorrow = दुःखहन् (m.) + subjective complement to योगः 1/1


For one who is moderate in eating and other activities, who is moderate in effort with reference to one's duties, (and) to one's sleeping and waking hours, (for such a person) meditation becomes the destroyer of sorrow.


Sentence 1:
युक्ताहारविहारस्य 6/1 युक्तचेष्टस्य 6/1 कर्मसु 7/3
युक्तस्वप्नावबोधस्य 6/1 योगः 1/1 भवति III/1 दुःखहा 1/1 ॥६.१७॥
For one who is moderate in eating and other activities (युक्ताहारविहारस्य 6/1), who is moderate in effort (युक्तचेष्टस्य 6/1) with reference to one's duties (कर्मसु 7/3), (and) to one's sleeping and waking hours (युक्तस्वप्नावबोधस्य 6/1), (for such a person) meditation (योगः 1/1) becomes (भवति III/1) the destroyer of sorrow (दुःखहा 1/1).
