2nd Chapter 46th Sloka

yāvānartha udapāne sarvataḥ samplutodake |

tāvān sarveṣu vedeṣu brāhmaṇasya vijānataḥ ||2.46||

·       यावान् [yāvān] = to which extent = यावत् (m.) + 1/1

o   यद् (which) + वतुँप् (that much) = यावत्

·       अर्थः [arthaḥ] = use = अर्थ (m.) + 1/1

·       उदपाने [udapāne] = in a pond = उदपान (m.) + 7/1

·       सम्प्लुतोदके [samplutodake] = when it is being flooded = सम्प्लुतोदक (n.)

·       तावान् [tāvān] = that much = तावत् (m.) + 1/1

o   तद् (that) + वतुँप् (that much) = यावत्

·       सर्वेषु [sarveṣu] = in all = सर्व (pron. m.) + 7/3

·       वेदेषु [vedeṣu] = in Vedas = वेद (m.) + 7/3

·       ब्राह्मणस्य [brāhmaṇasya] = for the Brāhmaṇa = ब्राह्मण (m.) + 6/1

·       विजानतः [vijānataḥ] = one who knows = विजानत् (m.) + 6/1

o   वि + ज्ञा + शतृँ (one who is …ing) = विजानत्

For the Brāhmaṇa who knows the self, all the Vedas are of so much use as a small reservoir is when there is a flood everywhere.

Sentence 1:

For the Brāhmaṇa (ब्राह्मणस्य 6/1) who knows the self (विजानतः 6/1), all (सर्वेषु 7/3) the Vedas (वेदेषु 7/3) are of so much (तावान् 1/1 यावान् 1/1) use (अर्थः 1/1) as a small reservoir (उदपाने 7/1) is when there is a flood (सम्प्लुतोदके 7/1) everywhere (सर्वतः 0).

With reference to all karmas, which are told in the Veda, if these countless results are not desired (by some people), then how come these karmas are offered for the sake of Īśvara? Listen to the result of practice of karma-yoga.

Just in the world, whatever the limited usefulness such as bathing in limited water bodies such as well and pond, that usefulness is there in the flooded water. That much of usefulness is gained, that means, that much usefulness is included in the flooded water.

In the same manner, that much कर्मफल, usefulness gained in the Vedic karmas, ब्राह्मण, who knows the परमार्थतत्त्व has that usefulness. That means, in the result of knowledge, which is compared to the flooded water, that usefulness is included.

Just as lower points (अधरेयाः) go under (संयन्ति) in the higher points (कृताये) which is won, every good thing which people do goes under this person who knows this knowledge which Raikva knows.

Also, Bhagavān will teach “all karmas entirely (resolves in knowledge)”.

Therefore, before the gain of अधिकार in knowledge, karma, compared to the purpose of well and pond, should be done by a person who is qualified for karma.

Example:           usefulness of well, pond           water everywhere

Exemplified:     usefulness of the Vedas           jnaana-phalam I am the whole

    1. Namaste,
Thank you for making a good question.
I think there are actually two words:
However, if you find any grammatical regulation to justify this form अधरेयाः as समास with अलुक्.
      Om.
