7th Chapter 10th Sloka

बीजं मां सर्वभूतानां विद्धि पार्थ सनातनम् ।

बुद्धिर्बुद्धिमतामस्मि तेजस्तेजस्विनामहम् ॥७.१०॥

bījaṃ māṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ viddhi pārtha sanātanam |

buddhirbuddhimatāmasmi tejastejasvināmaham ||7.10||

बीजम् ^2/1 माम् ^2/1 सर्वभूतानाम् ^6/3 विद्धि ^II/1 पार्थ ^S/1 सनातनम् ^2/1 ।

बुद्धिः ^1/1 बुद्धिमताम् ^6/3 अस्मि ^I/1 तेजः ^1/1 तेजस्विनाम् ^6/3 अहम् ^1/1 ॥७.१०॥

·       बीजम् [bījam] = seed = बीज (n.) + O.C. to माम् 2/1

·       माम् [mām] = me = अस्मद् m. + कर्मणि to विद्धि 2/1

·       सर्वभूतानाम् [sarvabhūtānām] = of all beings = सर्वभूत (n.) + सम्बन्धे to बीजम् 6/3

सर्वाणि भूतानि इति सर्वभूतानि, तेषाम् । (KT)

·       विद्धि [viddhi] = please know = विद् (2P) to know + लोट्/कर्तरि/II/1

·       पार्थ [pārtha] = Pārtha = पार्थ (m.) + सम्बोधने 1/1

·       सनातनम् [sanātanam] = eternal = सनातन m. + adj. to माम् 2/1

·       बुद्धिः [buddhiḥ] = intellect = बुद्धि (f.) + S.C. to (अहम्) 1/1

·       बुद्धिमताम् [buddhimatām] = those that have the capacity to discriminate = बुद्धिमत् m. + निर्धारणे 6/3

·       अस्मि [asmi] = I am = अस् (2P) to be + लट्/कर्तरि/I/1

·       तेजः [tejaḥ] = brilliance = तेजस् (n.) + S.C. to अहम् 1/1

·       तेजस्विनाम् [tejasvinām] = of the brilliant = तेजस्विन् m. + निर्धारणे 6/3

·       अहम् [aham] = I = अस्मद् m. + कर्तरि to अस्मि 1/1

Pārtha! Understand me as the one who is the eternal seed in all beings. I am the intellect of those that have the capacity to discriminate; I am the brilliance in the brilliant.

Sentence 1:

Pārtha (पार्थ ^S/1)! Understand (विद्धि ^II/1) me (माम् ^2/1) as the one who is the eternal (सनातनम् ^2/1) seed (बीजम् ^2/1) in all beings (सर्वभूतानाम् ^6/3).

Sentence 2:

I am (अस्मि ^I/1) the intellect (बुद्धिः ^1/1) of those that have the capacity to discriminate (बुद्धिमताम् ^6/3); I (अहम् ^1/1) am the brilliance (तेजः ^1/1) in the brilliant (तेजस्विनाम् ^6/3).

बीजम् ^2/1 प्ररोह-कारणम् ^2/1 माम् ^2/1 विद्धि ^II/1 सर्वभूतानाम् ^6/3 हे ⁰ पार्थ ^S/1 सनातनम् ^2/1 चिरन्तनम् ^2/1 । किञ्च ⁰, बुद्धिः ^1/1 विवेक-शक्तिः ^1/1 अन्तःकरणस्य ^6/1 बुद्धिमताम् ^6/3 विवेक-शक्तिमताम् ^6/3 अस्मि ^I/1, तेजः ^1/1 प्रागल्भ्यम् ^1/1 तद्वताम् ^6/3 तेजस्विनाम् ^6/3 अहम् ^1/1 ॥
